Megagram to Decigram

The decigram is a unit of mass equal to one tenth of a gram (10⁻¹ g) or 100 milligrams.

1 dg = 0.1 g = 100 mg = 10 cg.

To convert dg to grams: divide by 10. To convert dg to mg: multiply by 100.

Limited modern use. May appear in some European cooking recipes or educational worksheets.

The decigram was in wider use in the 19th century when the metric system was still establishing conventions.

Confusing dg (decigram) with dag (dekagram) — they differ by a factor of 100.

Deci = one-tenth, deka = ten. They are opposite: dg = 0.1 g, dag = 10 g.
